COA-CAR Holds Regional Conference

Regional Director (RD) Cecilia G. Ancheta, together with Officer-in-Charge Assistant Regional Director Bernard D. Bakilan, convened a regional conference last October 20, 2022 at the Conference Room of the Commission on Audit – Cordillera Administrative Region (COA-CAR), to discuss the status of audit and submission of reports by the various audit teams (AT) of COA-CAR. In attendance are the Supervising Auditors (SA), Regional Supervising Auditors (RSA), and Division Chiefs.
The said conference has its specific agenda: (a) conduct of Financial and Compliance Audit; (b) conduct of Citizens Participatory Audit by Audit Team 1, Local Government Audit Sector- C Benguet Province in partnership with the Project Management Office, Office of the Chairperson, this Commission, and other stakeholders; (c) deadlines of the submission of Annual Audit Reports (AARs) and Regional Consolidated Management Letters (RCMLs) for Calendar Year (CY) 2022; (d) status of cash examinations; (e) status of unliquidated cash advances; and (f) Christmas Celebration of COA-CAR.
RD Ancheta informed the body that Local Government Audit Sector (LGAS) Assistant Commissioner Roland A. Rey had issued a General Audit Instructions requiring all ATs of LGAS to conduct Financial and Compliance Audit. Moreover, RD Ancheta reminded all the audit groups to submit the Action Plan Monitoring Tool and issue Audit Observation Memorandum or letter to the agency for the non-submission of the Agency Action Plan and Status of Implementation.
In compliance with the United Audit Approach, the body deliberated and set the deadlines for the submission of the AARs and the RCMLs for CY 2022. The body resolved that all reviewed AARs and RCMLs shall be transmitted to the Agency Heads concerned on or before June 30, 2023.
In addition, the body agreed to hold the COA-CAR Christmas Celebration on December 7, 2022 and finalized the Program of Activities that will include group presentations and exchange of gifts. This year’s theme is “Sa Araw ng Pasko, Kapayapaan Hindi Kaguluhan; Pagdadamayan Hindi Pagbabangayan.”
The regional conference is held yearly to monitor the performance of the audit sectors against the targets and provide guidance for CY 2022 audit.
