COA-CAR celebrates the Inauguration of the PSAO Building in Apayao

Luna, Apayao – The Commission on Audit-Cordillera Administrative Region (COA-CAR) held the inauguration of the Provincial Satellite Auditing Office (PSAO) on April 16, 2024, in San Gregorio, Luna, Apayao.

 

The inauguration was led by COA Commissioner Roland C. Pondoc and Apayao Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. The event was attended by key officials from COA Central Office, and COA-CAR and Region 2 Regional Offices, as well as leaders from the Apayao provincial and municipal local governments.

 

COA-CAR Regional Director Renato O. Rosales opened the ceremony and delivered his opening remarks. He stated, “The PSAO buildings across the nation, including this one in Apayao, signify not only our independence as auditors but also the spirit of interdependence among public offices… We are all part of one government, working hand-in-hand to achieve our collective goals and aspirations for national development. PSAO Apayao is more than just a building; it is a symbol of our commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence in public service.”

 

Assistant Commissioner Alexander B. Julian, Officer-in-Charge of the Local Government Audit Sector, also delivered a brief message.

 

Commissioner Pondoc emphasized that the inauguration of the new PSAO is a symbolic step towards a collective commitment to transparency and progress in governance. He noted that the PSAO embodies COA’s unwavering dedication to uphold the highest standards of accountability and integrity in the public sector. He said, “It shall be a sanctuary equipped with all the tools and resources necessary for auditors to carry out their duties with fairness and diligence. It is more than just an office space; it stands as a beacon of collaboration and support, strengthening the bond between the auditing community and the agencies audited by COA.”

 

The PSAO Apayao was constructed on a 4,000 square-meter lot donated by the Municipal Government of Luna, Apayao, to COA-CAR. It is the third PSAO built in the region and the 58th in the country.
